    Lori Asked

We will be staying at the Fort Wilderness campground in April and have a couple questions. What are the check-in and check-out times at the Fort Wilderness campground? How long does check-in take? Should we arrive early? TIA,

    Lori:

Unlike the hotels, check-out time is officially 11 a.m. and check-in time is 1:00 p.m.  This gives the groundkeepers plenty of time to wash off the pad and get the site ready for the next occupant.

The length of time to check-in is relative. Most folks in RVs will stay in their vehicle to check in. Experience has taught me that the busiest time is around 1 p.m. but you can actually check-in at any time, you just may not be able to occupy your campsite before 1 p.m. I'd say the average wait I've experienced is about 15 minutes.

You will see some folks who will check-in in the morning, get their Welcome Packet and tickets, park their rigs in the overflow parking and take one of the buses to the parks.  They'll return around dinner to set up camp. What I love about the fort is that they will give you a number to call after 1 p.m. that will give you your campsite--no need to go back through the hassle of checking in!

Our family has stayed at Fort Wilderness more than any other resort at Disney. Feel free to come back to my bio page if you have any more questions!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
