    Staying at the Dolphin in 2 weeks... Would love feedback on the hotel... TIA

    Jenn,

    I love the Dolphin. I have stayed there many times, both for work and fun. A few observations;

    • This is a convention hotel. Be prepared for that, and know that your kids will see a lot of adults around the public spaces. Sometimes there are ones that are enjoying their expense accounts more than they should.
    • The high end dining is quite good. Shula's and bluezoo are both great, and the sister resort (the Swan) add more great choices.
    • The more affordable dining choices are nice too, though I am not a fan of Picabu. Use it for grab and go, but otherwise steer elsewhere.
    • Get your walking shoes on. You are going to want to walk over to the BoardWalk to enjoy the evening ambiance often. And it is faster than boating.
    • Speaking of boating, enjoy the boat access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios!
    • The rooms at the Dolphin are much improved. Especially the beds that are the newer Sheraton beds.
    • The shared pool (with the Swan) is one of the nicest, most underrated pools at Walt Disney World. If you are planning on swimming, expect to spend a lot of time there. And consider getting food and drink from the Cabana Bar, that is quite good!
    BOTTOM LINE: The Dolphin is one of the most optimally located resorts in all of Walt Disney World. It is nicely appointed, has a better than average spread of dining options, and keeps you in the Disney 'spirit' the whole time. You will have a great time!

    Have a magical vacation!
