If you are staying on Disney World property, do you have to have the food plan to make a dinner reservation? Would it still be the earliest you can make a reservation is 180 days in advance?

    Welcome, Pam!

Part of the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is choosing from all of the delicious dining options available in the parks and at the resorts. Once I book our Disney vacations, I always mark down our 180th day prior to arrival in my calendar so I can be sure I'm online that day choosing reservations at our "must-do" restaurants.

You don't need a Disney Dining Plan to make advanced dining reservations at Walt Disney World, Pam, so go ahead and count out for 180 days prior to your arrival date and be sure it's in your planner. You'll be able to book all dining for your whole trip that day beginning at 5:45 a.m. Eastern Time! Some of the most popular restaurants do book up quickly, so be sure to log on as soon as you're able in order to snag your favorites! Now, if you find that one of the restaurants you really wanted to experience is already booked, there are a few options. First of all, try for reservations another day during your trip. If that doesn't work out, keep checking back, especially in the week or two leading up to the trip. Guests change their dining plans all the time, so I often find an opening just before we depart for the vacation and can add it in. It really pays to check back!

I hope that helps as you continue to plan this exciting adventure, Pam!
