We are staying at the Disney Swan Resort and are AP. Are our fastpasses on our AP cards or do we need to buy magic bands? We made our reservations through Travelocity not Disney. Thank you!

Thank you for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Connie! You’ll love staying in the Epcot area. My favorite hotel here is Disney’s Beach Club Resort, though my Mom has stayed at the Swan and Dolphin and really enjoyed all the Walt Disney World Resort hotel perks that came with it!

Congratulations, too, on your Annual Passes. I am about to renew mine this year and am so excited to have another year of unlimited fun ahead of me! With that beautiful yellow card comes your Park Hopping ability, discounts, perks and your FastPass+ reservations. The AP card acts just like a hard ticket that you would get at the Ticket Window, with it’s RFID chip to tell those stanchions, “Make way, make way! Here comes Connie and she’s got a FP+ reservation!” It’s super convenient! Now, if you happen to have a MagicBand from a previous trip, you’ll find that the chips inside last a good 3-4 years without failing. The first thing to fade away would be the long range photos from attractions (if you didn’t happen to scan at the exit) but the close range capability of touchpoints and FP+ should be good to go. In my case, I’m always eyeballing new MagicBand designs. I bought myself the Mad Tea Party design to celebrate my First AP, and now I’m wondering what else I might be able to add to my collection!

If I can assist you any further with your upcoming trip, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
