Hi! We are going to be staying at Disney in May. We aren't planning to visit EPCOT on this trip, but can we still ride the monorail there without visiting the park? Thought it might be a fun ride for the kids. Thanks!

    Hi Deanna!

I'm right there with you - I think of the Monorail as an attraction just like the other attractions in the theme parks.

I've got some good news for you. It should be no problem to hop on the Epcot Monorail if you just want to take a cruise.  I've seen many people do it before, and I don't recall ever seeing a cast member ask them to disembark before heading back to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Now, the only thing I can think of that might be a problem is if you're looking to do the loop when large crowds will be trying to load into the Monorail (mainly in the evening when Epcot is closing).  I've never seen this before, but I'm only speculating that there could be a slight chance that you'd be asked to disembark and reenter the line for the ride back to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

When you're on the Epcot Monorail, and your riding on the long stretch of track that spans between Epcot and the Transportation and Ticket Center, you can play an awesome game of wildlife "I Spy" with your children. I've seen deer, turkeys, very cool looking birds, and other fun critters from the high vantage point you get while riding the Monorail.

I hope that helps! If there are any other questions you have, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
