We will be staying at Disney over Christmas the 24th-30th. What is the appropriate amount to tip housekeeping? Also should we tip daily or at the end of our trip?

I usually tip about $5 a day, but everyone is different.  I have noticed if you tip more up front you sometimes get better service.  We go down to WDW about once or twice a year.  We used to tip once at the end of our trip.  The service was always good and we never had any complaints, but it wasn't extraordinary.

During our last trip we tipped $20 the first day and come back to our room looking amazing.  The mousekeepers had arranged all of my daughter's toys in a very cute configuration and left us a surprise Mickey Mouse made out of towels on the bed.  We also had cute towel animals in the bathroom.

If you watch our moms panel videos you can see my friend Heather's tip about making mousekeeping envelopes.  She makes them with her kids before the trip.  They color them and fill them full of stickers.  Its a great idea and I think we'll be doing that during our next trip.

Meet the Panelist: Michelle, New Jersey

I have been fortunate enough to be on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel since 2008.  As a Disney World enthusiast, I can’t imagine a greater opportunity.  My husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and I visit WDW a few times a year.
