    Nancy from VA Asked

Hello. We are staying in the Contemporary Resort with a toddler and going to Animal Kingdom and Epcott. Trying to figure out if it is possible to travel back and forth to the hotel for an afternoon nap. How's the traveling means and time? Thanks.

Hello Nancy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

When you have the Magic Your Way with Park Hopper Option Admission for Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, the best choice you can make is to separate your visit with a refreshing mid-day break back at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

When my family visits, we often take advantage of Extra Magic Hours offered as a benefit to Guests staying at Resort Hotels to extend our break even longer while still maximizing our time in the Theme Parks.

As far as traveling back and forth from Disney's Contemporary Resort is concerned, you should plan for the trip to take roughly 60 minutes one way to or from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park depending on how quickly the bus arrives at each particular depot. For the trip between Epcot and Disney's Contemporary Resort, the monorail does dramatically speed up your travel times, even with the monorail transfers at the Ticket and Transportation Center.

I recommend that you plan to arrive at your first Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park early in the morning, plan for a break of at least 4 hours (travel time plus nap) and head back to your other Theme Park in time for dinner.

    Have a Magical Visit!
