We are staying at the Contemporary in Feb. 09 and just found out that the feature pool will be closed. Could you please tell me what is going on for renovations at the Contemporary and if you would switch to the GF?(2nd choice)

According the website, the feature pool will be closed from January 5 until Mid-March.  The Bay Lake Pool will remain open, or you may use the Nanea Volcano Pool at the Polynesian.  The feature pool is being resurfaced.

Some other Contemporary Resort renovations are now complete.  The Wave (table service) and the Contempo Cafe (counter service) have recently opened.  Both are nice dining options.  There is also some great shopping at the Contemporary!

If I were you and I could switch to Grand Floridian (or Polynesian),  I probably would.  For my family, coming from cold Cleveland winters in February, we like to spend time at the pool.  But if there were no other alternatives, I would stick with the Contemporary for its convenience to the monorail.

If you decide to switch resorts, I would contact Disney as soon as possible, as rooms do book up quickly.  Call 407- W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) to see what other arrangements are possible.  Your price may be different based on room availability and they type of room you reserve.  Good Luck and have a great vacation.
