Hi, Jason! Congratulations on your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! And what’s more, thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for assistance!
The
campfires at the resorts are a lot of fun! S’mores and songs and lots of fun, especially in the cooler months make campfires a really great way to cap off our family’s night with little kids. Yes, you’re right that the campfires can seem to be at awkward times, but they are really handy if you treat them like an appetizer… stop by before your resort dinner for a sweet snack, or a dessert after an early dinner. My little kids get their hungry pants on closer to 5:30, so the campfires for us work after dinner.
As far as finding out your room number, I’m afraid you’ll have to very close to your check in time (usually around 3pm) on your arrival day. I like to use online check-in, where I assign a credit card for charges, make room requests, etc. with my
My Disney Experience account a few days before we start our travel. Each time, as we are boarding
Disney’s Magical Express, I’m sent a text and an email with our room number and building. A quick search of the resort map tells me where to head right after we unload, and I almost never need to stop at the front desk. A quick disclaimer, my phone number often doesn’t “stick” when I do the online check-in, so sometimes I’ll call a few days after doing that and speak to a Cast Member to input it. Then, I get text and celebrate by walking straight to our room!
I hope you have a yummy vacation, and are quick to arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance! ~ Lindsey P.
