We are staying in the cabins at wilderness lodge. How far is the walk to the food court and busses. Thanks

Hi Heidi and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I think the fall is the perfect time to stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. The Resort is on 750 acres of forest filled with native plants and a few native animals. If you look at a map of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground you will see just how massive it is. The Cabins are spread out over a significant area so it's difficult to say how far the walk to dining, amenities, or transportation will be. You will notice on the map that the Cabins are located on loops with bus stops throughout the resort.  Two bus routes can take you to any of the resort dining options, recreation, amenities, or park transportation.

When I last visited The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort I actually rented a Golf Cart because I was concerned about the size of the resort. We spent a lot of time at the Resort so we got our money's worth out of our Golf Cart Rental. If you plan to spend most of your time at the Theme Parks, Water Parks, or Disney Springs, you might want to use the provided transportation. It took us a day to get used to the bus routes, but it was fun to let our children figure out which bus we needed and which stop we needed.

Whether you are headed to grab a delicious bite at P and J's Southern Takeout or headed to the Outpost Depot to catch a bus to a park, I think you'll find the buses at The Cabins easy to use.

Please let us know if we can help you with any other questions!
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
