We are staying at Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge in a 1 bedroom villa in a few weeks. Do you have recommendations for a room requests? we would like to be close to lobby & transportation if possible.

    Hello Alexandrea!

Boulder Ridge Villas are the perfect home base for your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Inspired by the lodges of the national parks, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has a warm, rustic feel. Over at Boulder Ridge Villas, part of the Disney Vacation Club family of resorts, you’ll find the theme shifted to the great railways of the west. Be sure to take a few minutes to visit the Carolwood Pacific Room, just off the entrance to the villas, where you’ll find an actual train car from the Carolwood Pacific Railroad. This small scale working railroad was set up in the back yard of Walt Disney, and is a real piece of Disney History!

I recommend completing the Online Check-in process for your resort stay. This will allow you to let the resort know your anticipated arrival time at the resort, and you should be able to choose one or two room preferences from a predetermined list. Often “close to transportation” or “close to lobby” are some of those options. I would choose both of them if you are able.

Boulder Ridge Villas is located in a separate building from the main lodge and is attached via a covered walkway. The walk to the main lobby is about 5 to 10 minutes from most rooms. The bus transportation is conveniently located just outside the entrance to Boulder Ridge Villas, so you'll find yourself closer to that option than most Guests in the main lodge. Unlike some resorts, Boulder Ridge Villas are pretty compact, and I think most rooms are a reasonable walk. If you’d like to make a specific room request, I might ask for a room ending in numbers: -02, -04, -08, -12 or -17, as these rooms are close to the main entrance and the elevators. However, I don't feel that any of the rooms at Boulder Ridge are that far away and so you should have a similar walk from most rooms.

I hope this helps as you plan your visit, Alexandrea. Happy planning and we’ll see ya real soon!
