We are staying at Art of Animation for 7 nights, with 5 day Park Tickets and Park Hopper passes. On the off day, when we are not at the parks, can we go to Ft. Wilderness "Trails End Restaurant" and can we use Disney transportation to get there?

Hi Dottie! It is great that you will explore the great Walt Disney World property during your next visit. I love checking out all of the resorts and recreation offered.

You can certainly head to Fort Wilderness and enjoy the amenities of that resort. You are not allowed to pool hop at Disney but there is still plenty to keep you busy in this resort. Trails End has a fabulous breakfast and dinner buffet and they offer southern style menu for lunch. Reservations are suggested for all meals. You can also book the great Hoop Dee Doo Revue show or Mickey's Backyard Barbecue which are located in the same area. If you are there in the evening stop and enjoy Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong which does not require a reservation and is complimentary except for the s'mores ingredients if you choose to roast some marshmallows. Immediately after the show starring of course Chip and Dale and a local guitarist and singer, you can stay for the Disney movie under the stars.

Other ideas for a Fort visit include booking a horseback ride or simply visiting the main Disney stables near Pioneer Hall. Here you can see some of the majestic Disney horses from the parks, an old calliope once used in the parades, and a small museum. Outside you will see Cinderella's beautiful white ponies. At the bike barn you can see if they are offering archery lessons or book the Segway tours. In fact this is the only location at the moment where you can learn to ride and enjoy a Segway and they will take you off onto the trails surrounding the resort. At the marina you might enjoy booking a little water Sprite where you can zoom around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. So much to do so plan on spending a few hours as well as a great meal.

The best way to get there from Art of Animation is to take a bus to one of the parks or Disney Springs and then transfer to a Fort Wilderness bus or boat (Magic Kingdom). Once you arrive you will take an internal bus to all of the different areas. Have fun!
