Staying at AOA in Nov trying to decide to order groceries from garden grocer or bus/cab to a grocery store/Walmart. The prices at garden grocer seem a bit pricy, r they comparable to local stores? What would be the cheapest option..thanks for your help

    Hi, Kimberly!

The ultimate decision is up to you, but I would prefer to use the convenient service of the Garden Grocer.  While their prices are a bit higher than you would find at a discount store, by the time you factor in the cab fare, you will still probably be ahead of the game with the Garden Grocer.  (My best guess is that cab fare would run you at least $20+ each way.)  Plus, once you arrive at the beautiful Art of Animation Resort, you are going to want to jump right into the magic.  Heading to the store would take several hours of your valuable time. After spending so much money on your trip, why use up any of that time on grocery shopping?!

You will be able to purchase the necessities right at your resort:  milk, bread, soda, snacks, and more. You may also want to check out the food court pricing which is pretty reasonable.  We will often just grab 2 slices of bread for toast (under $1) or get a kids meal, just around $5 for breakfast.  For dinner, we sometimes order a whole pizza (under $20) and have a pool side dinner that is loads of fun!

Plan out what you think you need to purchase, and let me know! I might have some good ideas on how to save money.  For example, you may be looking to buy a case of water.  Did you know that Cast Members will be happy to give you a large ice water for free at any counter service location?  Yep, Free!   Are you on the Disney Dining Plan?  Then you will get a refillable mug for beverages at your resort.  More FREE!

Let me know if I can help guide you on this!  Good luck planning out your meals for your magical vacation.
