We are staying at AOA Little mermaid room in May for 10 days, however we want to split our stay with a Deluxe resort. Are there any issues with the dining plan/ Memory maker/ etc crossing across to the new resort? How do we book a split stay online?

    Hi, Heidi!

Let's start with Memory Maker. This fun photo service will capture your photos for 30 days after its first use so you will have no problem with this service.

If you want to stay at two different resorts during your stay, you will have to book two completely different reservations. This means two sets of park tickets, two different sets of Dining Plan credits.

Can it be done? Yes! The problem comes in that you need to purchase theme park tickets with your package to include the Disney Dining Plan. The more days on your ticket, the cheaper your tickets gets "per day".  So if you book two - 5 day base tickets, this will be much more expensive than one - 10 day ticket. Perhaps you can book a 9 day ticket for your first leg, and 1 day ticket for the second leg, as tickets do not expire for 14 days, and this would allow you to add the Dining Plan for both resort reservations.

Yes, it is a bit confusing!  I suggest you book this vacation by calling the friendly cast members at (407)W-DISNEY and they can walk you through this. Splitting your vacation between 2 resorts is not uncommon, but a bit complicated so leave it to the experts to book it for you. Just make sure to figure out the most economical ticket option.

When you are ready to move from one resort to the next, make a call to luggage services at your resort and they can assist in having your bags transferred. Remember that you need to check out of your resort by 11am and your new room might not be ready until 3pm so plan accordingly for any mid-day breaks.

I have to be honest, I am not a big fan of splitting my stay. Your resort starts to feel like home, and packing up and moving can be a bit disruptive to your vacation. That said, many guests LOVE the split stay, but just remember that there is work involved. Good luck deciding!
