We are going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom resort over Spring Break and will be visiting the 4 parks throughout the week. My question is, should we drive ourselves to the parks or take the Disney transportation? Thanks!

    Hi Kathryn!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

One of the great benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is the complimentary transportation.  You can take the bus from your resort, and it will stop near to the entrance of your chosen theme park.  When you have finished your day at the park, you can sit back and let the bus take you right back to your resort.  The buses start operating around an hour before theme park opening, so if you wish to enter the parks as soon as they open, you can arrive in plenty of time.

That being said, sometimes it is useful to drive your own car to the park, especially if you are going on somewhere else after the park, before you return to your resort, or if you have a dining reservation and do not have enough time to take the bus (it is recommended to allow 60 minutes to travelfrom your resort to a theme park, or 60-90 minutes from resort to resort).

I enjoy using both - the Disney Transportation System, and our own car - both offer convenient and easy ways of travelling around the resort.

If you have any other questions please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
