staying as AKL August 2011, can you reccomend the best rooms we have purchased a savanna view. also what rides to you suggest need fast pass tickets and are they any additional cost

    Hey there Cel,

It's my pleasure to answer a question for a fellow New Jerseyan.  With all the snow we've been having lately, it sure is nice to be thinking thoughts about Florida, isn't it?

If you have booked a savanna view room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge you can be sure you'll have a wonderful view where you can experience the amazing African wildlife at the resort.  You may want to make a request for one of the three savannas at this resort if there is a particular animal you wish to see on a regular basis.  For instance, if someone in your party is a big zebra fan, ask for a room viewing the Arusha savanna.  That's where the zebras will be found.  If ostriches are your favorite, then ask for a room with a view of the Sunset savanna, and finally, ask for a view of the Uzima savanna if kudu are more your cup of tea.  Many species, like the giraffes at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, can be seen on all three savannas.

Now, as for fast passes...I have great news for you!  There is no charge to get a fast pass.  Just insert your park ticket for the day into the fast pass machine in front of an attraction and it will print one out for you.  I suggest you acquire fast passes for the following attractions:  Expedition Everest in the Animal Kingdom, Toy Story Mania, the Rock 'N Roller Coaster, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney's Hollywood Studios, Soarin', Test Track, and Mission Space in Epcot, and Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom.  You'll find that fast passes will save you plenty of waiting time.

    Have a great trip!
