We have stayed at two disney resorts and liked parts of each. We are going to be in the area visiting family and possibly going to downtown. We wondered if there is a way to tour some of the resorts, so we know where we should stay for our trip next year.

Welcome to the Moms Panel, David! How exciting you may be visiting Downtown Disney during your upcoming trip to Orlando! My children feel a trip to Walt Disney World is incomplete without a visit to Downtown Disney and we have spent countless hours at this exciting entertainment district! Guests are more than welcome to visit the Walt Disney World Resorts to dine or take a self-guided tour of the public areas. In fact, my family has visited other resorts when staying at Walt Disney World to see if we would like to book a future stay at that particular resort. Some years ago, we dined at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop located at Disney's Beach Club Resort while staying at the Walt DIsney World Dolphin Hotel. After touring the public areas of the resort,  we decided to stay there on our next vacation. I can honestly say that Disney's Beach Club Resort is our favorite Walt Disney World Resort and we would have never discovered it had we not visited for lunch. From Downtown Disney, you could easily travel to Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort, Port Orleans's French Quarter Resort,  Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and Disney's Old Key West Resort via ferry (water taxi) transportation. I hope this information helps! Please don't hesitate to write me back if you have any questions regarding the Walt DIsney World Resorts or your next Walt Disney World vacation. Best wishes for a magical trip, David!
    Happy Planning,
