We stayed at French Quarters last summer and we are planning a trip for Christmas for my 6 year olds birthday. I loved FQ and would go back but the family wants to try a new one. We are thinking about Pop. Is that a bad idea to down grade?

Hey, Brittany. I think Pop Century is a very comparable experience and worth a shot if you've never been. There are lots of similarities in terms of the layout of the resorts - things like the central building having the food court, one single area for bus transportation and everything at the resort being within a walkable distance.

The "downgrade" pieces are subtle and completely transparent to a 6 year old - things like towel service at the pools, number of sinks in the room, the fridge, the coffee maker, etc. On the upside, Pop Century doesn't share park transportation with any other resort, whereas Port Orleans French Quarter will share some trips with Riverside.

The theming at Pop Century is much brighter than Port Orleans French Quarter. That being said, your 6 year old will likely find the large iconic theming at Pop Century more enjoyable than the vibrant accents of the Big Easy.
