When I stayed at Coronado I decorated my window! This year I'm staying at The Contemporary.. do I have a window to decorate or can I decorate my door? If the door, is scotch tape ok to use on it? Thanks for all your answers, you guys do a great job

Hi Sandra! It is fun to have a festive room while staying in a Disney resort. It just makes the magic seem closer at hand.

Decorating windows is one idea and the Contemporary Resort rooms will all have windows of some sort. This resort is quite high with many stories so having others see your decorations will be hard but it is for you and you will always be able to locate it and smile. I have seen some doors with a sign but understand that it is not like a cruise ship where the doors can be literally covered with decorations. The difference is that resort doors are not magnetic and thus to decorate them some sort of adhesive must be used. To even put a sign up a guest must use something that will not affect the paint in any way. Scotch tape could easily take paint off in many instances but there are adhesives that are sold that will not and suggest using those if you wish to put a sign on your door.

We like to decorate inside the room with signs and banners that can be used without damaging anything. I have put little notes on mirrors every morning or put a festive hat on an ice bucket just for fun. The Disney florist has fun ideas and they can come in and decorate a room for a princess package, pirate package, or holiday themes. You can check them out at www.disneyflorist.com.

Whatever you decide just make sure you use a safe adhesive putty and keep everything appropriate to a wonderful Disney vacation. Mickey and his friends will love to see a decorated magical room!
