where should you stay with a 1 1/2 year old and what rides can they go on?

Hello Jessica, I'm so glad you stopped by with a question for your very first Walt Disney World vacation. You and your family are going to love all the magic that is in store all along the way. Here are my recommendations for the three price categories, since I am unsure of your budgetary constraints.

First, if you are looking for a value resort, I would highly recommend Disney's Art of Animation Resort. This resort is full of color and larger than life animation that literally comes to life throughout the buildings, pools, and landscaping. The resort is divided into areas based on four classic Disney movies, Cars, Finding Nemo, Little Mermaid, and the Lion King. Little Mermaid has standard rooms that fit up to 4 guests, while the other three areas have family suites that fit up to 6 people. If you would like a few more amenities, but don't quite want to splurge on the deluxe resorts, the moderate category is the way to go. My personal favorite is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside resort. The theming is a bit more subtle, but has a quiet southern charm and very nice rooms. It is a little more spread out, but offers several bus stops for convenience sake. Now, if budget is not a concern, the deluxe category is for you. Disney's Yacht and Beach Clubs are absolutely amazing and the pool is phenomenal. Stormalong Bay, the main pool area, features lazy river, man made beach areas with zero entry and a water slide, too. My youngest, who was two years old at the time, loved playing in the sand when we stayed there.

In regards to what your toddler can ride, the sky's the limit. Unless the ride has a height restriction, he or she is able to experience all other rides at that age, which is a majority of them. Many rides offer ride vehicles that are large enough for three people across.

I hope this offers you some good info to begin your planning. Feel free to stop back by with more questions as they come up.
