Should stay Value or Moderate due to cost vs Benefit? (Feb 2-10 2012) This will be our first WDW trip with my 1.5 DS? Is it worth the extra cost for upgrade? Why? At that time can we expect a lot of people/ loud school groups?

Yo, Megan! You raise a popular question - value or moderate? It's a question who's caliber is of the same importance as similar questions such as "pop or soda?" and "chicken or the egg?" Since your son will be 18 months at the time of your trip, I think the layout of the resort room may be the most important variable. Disney has complimentary Pack & Plays for you to use as your son's bed. In a value resort, there's plenty of space to station the bed. On the other hand, there's more space in a moderate room. The layout of most moderate rooms provides more flexibility / comfortability for the adults in the room too. For example, at French Quarter, you get a curtain that you can draw in front of the vanity area, which is especially helpful if you're getting ready in the morning or at night while your little biscuit is sleeping. Other differentiators at a moderate include a mini fridge (which could help with milk,) towel service at the pools and a coffee maker in the room. If you don't care about those types of amenities and all you need is a place to sleep, go with the value resort and save some money.
