    Sophia from NJ Asked

If I stay at swan or dolphin hotel what wont i get compare to another onsite disney hotel? Is there any disadvantages? thank you.

Hi Sophia! The Swan and Dolphin Hotels have a lot of advantages. They have a prime location on Disney property next to the Boardwalk and Yacht Club Resorts and within a short boat ride or walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Although the Swan and Dolphin aren't owned by Disney, they do offer guests some of the same benefits as the Disney resorts do, namely free transportation to and from the parks by bus or boat and the ability to participate in Extra Magic Hours for resort guests. Often, you can find rates at the Swan and Dolphin that are less than the deluxe Disney resorts, making a stay there a great value, especially considering the location and the room size and amenities.

However, since the Swan and Dolphin aren't Disney-owned, some aspects of a stay there differ from stays at Disney resorts. One disadvantage of staying at the Swan and Dolphin is that they do not offer the Magical Express, the free airport shuttle service. If you're staying there, you'll have to arrange for your own transportation to and from the airport. You won't be able to charge purchases in the parks to your Swan and Dolphin room key like you can with a Disney resort Key to the World card, and you won't be able to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. You'll usually be charged a daily "resort fee" of $12 (but it gives you internet access and two bottles of water), and you'll have to pay for parking at the hotel if you have a car. Another disadvantage, in my opinion, is that these hotels don't have the same Disney theming as the Disney resorts. The rooms feel like a typical business hotel chain, and to me, they don't seem as luxurious as the Disney deluxe resorts.
