We want to stay at FW campsites! We need details to make a great experience. Like how do you stay cool in the tents, etc. Thanks

    Howdy Brandy!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! We visit numerous times a year between the cabins and the campsites. We like to visit in the cooler months, but one visit was hot for December (high 80s). We stayed comfortable, not necessarily cool, with oscillating fans in our tent. We keep our windows open during the day and at night to let fresh air flow through. Instead of sleeping bags, use a light sheet or blanket that isn't heavy or overly warm. If you want to make a small investment, a portable air conditioner will do the trick.

I have a separate packing list for when we visit Fort Wilderness and #1 on my list are ear plugs. We have had the unfortunate experience more than once of being next to loud families or next to Guests who snore, so earplugs are a must for me. Pack towels and toiletries because they aren't provided to campers. Flashlights and extra batteries come in handy after dark when someone has to go potty. A power strip and extension cord are two things my husband suggests. We bring a couple of strands of rope lights to line the roof of our tent and to wrap around the trees. It gets pretty dark at night, so the lights on our tent make for the perfect ambiance.

I suggest renting a golf cart during your visit to Fort Wilderness. It's a fantastic way to get around the Resort and is a ton of fun! Without a cart, you'll be relying on the internal buses to get to and from, which can take some time because they stop at every loop along the way. Advance reservations for golf carts are highly recommended and you can make them by calling (407) 824-2742.

Please stop back by with any additional questions!

    Have a magical day!
