Do you have to stay at a Disney hotel to use a magic band and get FastPass+?

    Hi Mike!

It sounds like you are getting ready for a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I'm happy to help you with your plans. Choosing your vacation "home" is an important decision and regardless of where you stay, you will definitely have a fantastic vacation visiting Mickey and friends!

Both MagicBands and FastPass+ reservations are benefits that all Walt Disney World Resort Guests can take advantage of, even those who are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel. While MagicBands are complimentary for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, all Guests can use MagicBands during a trip to the theme parks. If you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can purchase your MagicBands online in advance of your trip or from any of the shops at Walt Disney World Resort. Once you link your MagicBands to your My Disney Experience account, you will have access to your theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservations and Memory Maker account with simply the touch of your MagicBand!

All Guests with theme park tickets can take advantage of the FastPass+ System to make the most of their time in the theme parks. You can make three advanced FastPass+ reservations, where you can use the FastPass+ queue to enjoy them and bypass their Standby queue. As long as you have theme park tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account, you will be able to make FastPass+ reservations 30 days in advance. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will be able to make your FastPass+ reservations 60 days in advance of your vacation!
