Family planning a trip

For our stay, we are arriving late in the day and are staying at a Moderate resort and not going to the parks. The next day, we are headed to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the remainder of our trip. Will we still use the same Magic Bands? Thanks!

    Hi Brendan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am always delighted to greet a fellow North Carolinian!

How exciting that you will get to experience two resorts during your upcoming stay at the Walt Disney World Resort! As long as you have both resort hotel confirmations linked in your My Disney Experience account and your MagicBand is active, you should be able to use it for both stays. Having said that, when we have done split stays at two different resorts, we have always received two sets of MagicBands. If you do not want a set, you will need to decline them when doing Online Check-in.

My family happily accepts all of our MagicBands. It helps to have an extra MagicBand for everyone on each trip just in case someone loses one. From time to time, I have had some trouble unlocking my resort hotel room door with one MagicBand when I have two on the trip with me. In these cases, I have used the Unlock Your Room Door feature in My Disney Experience with my mobile phone and later gone to a Cast member at the front desk for assistance.

I do hope you have linked all of your advanced dining reservations to your My Disney Experience Account and made your FastPass+ selections. Just in case, I also create a separate chart of all of our plans so that I can keep track of our flight information and other special tours

Brendan, know that your MagicBands also give you access to the FastPass+ entrance for rides and attractions and you will need to scan your MagicBands when taking photos with Disney PhotoPass photographers.

    Happy Planning!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
