I want to stay at AKL on our next trip. It will be me, husband & 8 yr old son. My son is a picky eater (honestly I am to) so I don't see us liking African themed food. Are there still plenty of "American" items on the menus at AKL for us p

    Hello Sara,

Walt Disney World takes Guests on a culinary adventure of the taste buds but yet still offer those Guests whose palate still err on the side of overly flavorful, diverse caution is met as well. Dining around Walt Disney World is one of my favorite experiences, the chance to explore and take part in some amazing dining flavors is around every corner.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to some of the most savory restaurants, tempting Guests to explore African and Indian inspired flavors at Jiko- The Cooking PlaceSanaa and Boma- Flavors of Africa. While these establishments cater to the dishes of their countries you and you son are able to fine some more recognizable selections which while satisfy your palate.

Most children's menus consist of grilled chicken, steak and fish, pizzas, macaroni & cheese, fresh fruit and salads. Adults can choose from some delicious choices such as grilled NY Strip, Filet Mignon, Chicken, Burgers, a variety of Salads along with more menu options. Boma- Flavors of Africa is an amazing buffet which caters to a wide range of tastefully scrumptious options for families and is sure to be a hit for all. From their breakfast buffet to their dinner buffet, you can choose to be as adventurous as you want in your taste buds selections. The Mara is your quick service restaurant and is open throughout the day. It offers a more wide range of foods you will be more comfortable choosing from.

Feel free to visit the links I have offered above and peruse through the menus for a better idea. If I can be of any further culinary, pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask and may your upcoming stay be filled with many magical and memorable moments.
