    Celeste from AL Asked

Staryed at AKL last time and loved it. Want to try another resort and looking at the mod ones. Can anyone give me opinions, pros/cons between coronado and caribbean. Going w/ DH and DS 4 and 1. Going in Dec. You guys are the best Thanks!!!

Hi Celeste,   December is my favorite time of the year in Disney!  I love all the decorations and the festivities!

Both Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach are great choices.  They are very similar in that they are both very large and very spread out.  Each resort is situated around a beautiful lake and has a main pool area along with several other smaller pools scattered around the resort.

I recently stayed at Coronado Springs in a newly renovated room.  The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable.  The grounds were immaculate and it was a lovely, peaceful resort.

During this same stay, I visited Caribbean Beach.  I had to opportunity to peek in on Pirate Room.  These rooms are adorable with their pirate ship beds, carpet that looks like wood planks, and just such cute themeing.  The main pool area is awesome with slides and huge buckets of water that dump every few minutes.

While I really like both resorts, with two boys 4 and 1, I would choose Caribbean Beach and I would book a Pirate Room.  Along with the resort's theme, I like that the food court is very close to the pool, so getting snacks or lunch during an afternoon at the pool is a snap.

Either resort is super nice, but enjoy the Pirate fun while your kids are little!  Have a great vacation.
