We are starting to plan our 1/16 WDW trip w/our son (will be 4). If we are looking into the All-Star resorts, would we save money getting a package deal? How else can we save money on this trip?

    Hi, Lauren!

To best answer your question, I am going to tell you everything my family does to save money on our Walt Disney World vacations.

You are already on target staying at a value resort. We have stayed at Pop Century many times and we love it. The rooms are a bit small, but should be practically perfect for your little family.

Your transportation costs from the airport to your Walt Disney World hotel are complimentary using Disney's Magical Express. Once you are at your hotel, you can use Disney transportation to get to all four Theme Parks, Water Parks, and Downtown Disney. This is all at no cost to you, and is an incredible value. No car rental needed!

Walt Disney World has in the past offered the Disney Dining Plan for free during off-peak travel times. To find out when this is offered next, stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog or keep checking the Walt Disney World Special Offers page. Staying at a value resort you would have the Quick-Service Dining Plan. Included are two Quick-Service meals and one Snack per person per night of your stay. We use these meals for lunch and dinner. We order breakfast items such as granola bars, Pop Tarts, fruit, and nuts from gardengrocer.com. They will deliver your groceries straight to your resort on the day of your arrival. We also order cases of bottled water and we bring a few bottles to the Parks with us each day.

I also have some helpful ways to budget for Walt Disney World souvenirs.

Come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you need any additional money saving ideas.

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
