We are starting to plan a vacation to Disney World the week of Thanksgiving. (2020) Our son will be 21 months old, so three months shy of 2. We wanted to bring him young, and then again when he's older. What's the best resort/things to do with him?

    Hi, there!

Devin, I'm SO excited to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your little one. You're sure to have a magical stay!

I have three kiddos, and we started taking each of them to the Walt Disney World Resort when they were under the age of 3 with plans for many return visits. It's been such a joy to see them experience so many magical adventures! I especially love looking at photos of past Disney vacations because we can see them growing up alongside Mickey Mouse. Just precious!

With over 30 Disney Resort hotels to choose from, you certainly have plenty of options. There's something for every family's unique interests, needs, and budget! Plus, staying at a Disney Resort hotel comes with lots of great benefits which make traveling with a little one a breeze! In the Value category, I recommend Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. The larger-than-life Characters throughout the resort and Disney themed rooms are really appealing to little ones. From the Moderate category, I suggest Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. As a mom, one of the things I love the most about this Resort hotel is that there's a solid door between the sleeping area and the bathroom area which minimizes some noise. From the Deluxe category, I recommend Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It's proximity to Magic Kingdom Park is super convenient, and you'll love the tropical, island vibe.

As toddlers, my kids really enjoyed all the family-friendly attractions in the theme parks. These attractions are perfect for kids of all ages! Slow boat ride attractions like "it's a small world" and attractions with gentle, easy tracks like Peter Pan's Flight were always their favorites.

I always recommend families who are traveling with small children book a few Character Dining Experiences. These meals are extra great because Guests can enjoy incredible food AND the fantastic company of beloved Disney Characters. At all-you-care-to-enjoy locations like Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace, and Tusker House Restaurant, your little guy can eat for free since he'll be under the age of 3! How awesome is that?

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Devin. Please let me know if you have any other questions about planning your family's Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
