I am just starting to plan our first trip to WDW for January 2013, for my 5yr daughterand, husband and I but don't have a clue about how many days to book. How many days are good? Is it a good idea to get park hopper tickets?

    Hi Dannica,

    Your first trip, how exciting!

The idea length of stay is a personal decision that you should base on your own calendar and budget. As a rule of thumb, many people think that a trip of five to seven days is idea. A five-day stay allows for one full day at each of the four theme parks plus an extra day at your favorite theme park (you can't see everything in one day). Additional days give you time at water park and/or Downtown Disney,  time relaxing by the pool, time for boat rental or other water sports, or time for more leisurely dining or dinner shows.

The Park Hopper decision should also be based on your family's budget. Personally, I like the Park Hopper because it allows you more flexibility. For example, you can switch to a park with more indoor attractions if it starts to rain mid-day. But if budget constraints are important to you, then skipping the Park Hopper is an easy way to economize.

I'm sure you'll have more questions as you continue your planning. Please come back and see us again.
