Would like to split visit between AKL and Poly. If dining plan and tickets bought on first reservations can they be used at the 2nd resort? Planned on only purchasing room on 2nd reserv.---Any insight on splitting visit between 2 resorts and dining plan ?

    Hi Carol!
I have stayed at two different Resorts on one trip with the Disney Dinning Plan. I will warn you that staying at two different Resorts can be tricky, when it comes to Dining Plans and Park Tickets.

Park Tickets:You can add them for the entire days of your stay to your first Resort package. For example, if you are staying for 6 total days then you can purchase a 6 Day Magic Your Way Park Tickets. These Tickets will be attached to the room key (Key to the World Card) of the first Resort that you are staying at.  Also the Dining Plan for the first part of your stay will be attached to this room key as well. You will have to use these particular Key to the World Cards to get into the Parks during your entire trip.

Dinning Plan:This is where it gets more complex. Dining Plans typically require you to have a package including a certain amount of Park Tickets, a stay for three nights in a Disney Resort, and everyone in your party must have the same Dining Plan. Your two Resort stays are considered by Disney to be two separate trips not on trip at two different Resorts so in essence you need to purchase two Dining Plan packages. For your particular scenario this means that if you stay three or more nights in the first Resort, you purchase tickets for your entire length of stay, and you purchase the Dining Plan, your first part of your stay is taken care of. You will have to use all of your Dining Credits from the first Resort by midnight the day you check out of that Resort. For the second Resort, you will have to stay at least three nights, purchase two days Park tickets for everyone in your party, and purchase the Dining Plan. So you will end up with extra Park Tickets.  It is fun to stay in two different Resorts on a trip, but you will have to do the math to see if this plan works for you and your family.

I hope that you have an amazing and magical trip next time you travel to Walt Disney World!
