Would $800 in spending cash be enough to get through a four day stay? I have one of the good dining plans, and don't expect to go crazy with souvenirs. I know things can be crazy expensive though.

    Hi Jenn,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!  Deciding how much spending money to budget for on a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort can be tricky. From my experience, I would say that your budget for spending money is more than enough for your length of stay.  In the end it will come down to your personal comfort level in deciding a dollar amount to bring with you on your vacation.

When I am figuring out how much spending money to budget for, I begin by looking at how much money I will need for tips.  If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, your meals will be taken care of, but guests are responsible for gratuities.  I also like to tip housekeeping, bell services, and anyone else who provides a service for our family.  From there I take into account if I have planned any special experiences (such as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique) that I will have to pay for upon arrival, and add those totals to my budget.  After that I think about the souvenirs and snacks that I would like to purchase on my trip and add the expected cost to my budget.

I always give my daughter a Disney Gift Card for her to use while on vacation.  This way, she has control over her souvenir purchases, and when the card is empty, her shopping is done as well.  I like to give her responsibility over her money;  you are never too young to learn how to budget!

I hope you have a magical time on your vacation Jenn.  If you have any other questions while planning your trip to Walt Disney World Resort, please let me know.  I would be happy to help!

    Happy shopping,

    Stephanie
