Hello! I will be a spectator for the Dark Side 1/2 Marathon on 4/22/18. Can we stand at any of the mile markers, even if they are inside a park? Will the runDisney transportation get us there? Any other tips for spectators?

    Hi Katie,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

ChEARing on our favorite runDisney athletes is always fun, and of course even Captain Phasma's First Order stormtrooper trainees need friends to root for them to run.

The runDisney website publishes the Star Wars Half Marathon - The Dark Side event information, including the race course and Spectator Viewpoint details in the digital event guide. Spectator Viewpoint options include the race start at Magic Kingdom which you can get to via the Rapunzel Parking Lot, and the race finish at Epcot which you can get to via the Imagine Parking Lot. runDisney transportation can get you from the host resorts to the race start area or finish line area.

In my experience as a runDisney spectator, the finish line area is always the most fun spot to watch all the excitement. There is so much action, energy, and enthusiasm all around. You can use the runner tracking service to monitor a runner's pace via text message updates throughout the race to get an idea of when the runner will finish.

You can also explore purchasing the chEAR Squad package that provides Reserved Finish Line ChEAR Zone seating.

Another tip to share is to visit the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex where you can make signs supporting your runner.

So bring on your shout-out voice and make enough noise to hear across the galaxy because there's lots of spectator fun ahead for you!

    Enjoy your Disney!
