What special things can we do for our daughter's birthday? She turns 6 next week, and we will be checking in Fort Wilderness the day before her birthday.

Hi, Andrea! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and a great big Happy Birthday to your little princess!

I'm excited to help you sprinkle some pixie dust on your daughter's big day. We just got back from celebrating my son's birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort. He had a blast! I'll share a couple of ideas your birthday girl may enjoy.

First, if you haven't already, do call Guest Relations and have your celebration noted on your Resort reservation. When we checked in at the front desk of our Resort hotel, the Cast Member gave my son a "Happy Birthday" button with his name on it. If you check in online and skip the front desk, you can still request a button at any Guest Relations location or in many retail shops all around Walt Disney World.

You can also note your daughter's birthday on any dining reservations. We had dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe, and they had placed a bunch of balloons on the table before we arrived. He was so excited marching over to his special table! We also ordered a birthday cake for dessert, which was delivered to our table.

Your surprises may differ from ours, but just know that Cast Members will go out of their way to make your daughter feel extra special.

Andrea, for even more ideas, check out Disney's Enchanting Extras Collection. From special experiences to room decorations, there are so many ways to fill your daughter's birthday with Disney magic.

I hope this helps you plan a practically perfect day for your princess, Andrea. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions!

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
