I have a special needs child who will be attending WDW with her family this spring. It is oftentimes inconvenient for us to negotiate the WDW buses . Does Disney offer other transportation alternatives around the respective resorts? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Toby,

Depending upon what Disney resort you chose to stay at, transportation to and from the theme parks is via buses, boats and/or monorails.  If you are concerned about buses, you may want to consider staying at a resort on the monorail line (Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian).  At any of these resorts, you will be able to get to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot via monorail, which might be a bit more convenient for your family.  However, transportation to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom would still be via bus.  If you chose either the BoardWalk Inn or Yacht & Beach Club, you could walk or take a short boat ride to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios (and would take buses to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom).  Finally, The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Campground offer boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom (the other parks are accessible via bus).

If none of these options are feasible for your family, you may want to consider renting a car.  Theme park parking is free for guest staying on property.  There is a convenient car rental location at the Car Car Center near the Magic Kingdom.  There is free shuttle transportation to the Center via every Disney resort.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a magical trip!
