My son's tall enough but is scared so won't be doing 7DMT or the mountains. Can I utilise both FP+ & Rider Switch e.g. can I only book FP+ for my husband & daughter and use Rider Switch for me & book different FP+ for me & son?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ranjit! Thank you for stopping by and for bringing us your question.

I’m excited to learn you are getting ready to visit the most magical place on earth with your family. I bet as your countdown gets shorter you are getting more and more excited. I have a feeling this will be a magical vacation to remember!

Ranjit, like you, I have a son that is tall enough to ride some of the “bigger kid” rides, but he’s just not quite ready yet. So, I wondered how to approach our FastPass+ bookings as a family. Here’s what I did that worked well for us. We ended up booking FP+ separately for the rides we knew we would not ride together as a family and then chose others for the entire family. We then utilized the Rider Switch service to make sure my husband and I got to experience the rides we wanted to, while one of us stayed behind with the kids. So, to answer your question, yes! You can book your FastPass+ in the way that makes the most sense for your family, and use Rider Switch when you need to. You’ll find that Cast Members are so helpful when it comes to allowing the family to divide and conquer in order for everyone to experience the magic at their own pace.

I hope this helped answer your question! One last tip, be sure you download the My Disney Experience mobile app to your smart device before you arrive. It’s such a helpful tool as you navigate the parks. I use it most to get additional FP+ throughout the day once we have redeemed our third initial selection.

I hope you have a magical time! See you real soon!
