Mom And Son Red Car Trolly

It will be my son’s second birthday. I wanted to take a photo with him standing in front of the castle holding a number 2 balloon. If I brought one with me, would it be possible to have it blown up somewhere at the park?

    Hi Leann!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you so much for bringing this Disneyland Resort planning question to us hEAR!

First off, let me say a big double-ears 'Happy Birthday!' to your Mouseketeer! I can't think of a better place to celebrate than with Mickey and his pals at the Happiest Place on Earth! Definitely ask for a family set of complimentary "Happy Birthday" and "I'm Celebrating!" buttons to let everyone know your crew is celebrating a special day. These buttons can be found at almost every shop in both Disneyland Park as well as Disney California Adventure Park. Wear them proudly for your whole visit as Cast Members and Characters alike love to wish their friends well.

While one very iconic (earconic?) Disney Parks souvenir is a mouse ear helium balloon, these are all filled backstage and there isn't a place to request or pay for personal balloons to be inflated inside the parks. There are a handful of nationwide stores located in walking distance to the Esplanade entrance of Disneyland Resort, on both Katella Avenue as well as Harbor Boulevard, that might offer this service. Or, if you'll have a vehicle, there are other big box stores, party supply shops, as well as full-service grocery stores all within a mile or two of Disneyland. Definitely call these locations now to find one with helium. Lastly, if you don't necessarily need the balloon to be floating, and you're okay with your son holding the balloon in his arms, you should be fine to bring a flat balloon and a small hand-held pump in to the park with you. There are even smaller versions of these foil number balloons that self inflate!

I think this sounds like an adorable photo opportunity. Disney PhotoPass Photographers are stationed all around the parks and would love to help you capture these shots with their professional eyes and fancy cameras. And don't forget that PhotoPass digital photos are included with the purchase of Disney MaxPass!

I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Leann, and if you have any other Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
