My son, 6 years old and I are going to WDW in 11 days. We are only going 3 days and planning to spend one in Hollywood Studios and 2 in Magic Kingdom. Any suggestions on what I can do to keep him entertained? Best places to go, things to do, places to eat?

    Dear Amanda,

Keeping your six-year-old son entertained will not be a problem at Walt Disney World!  I guarantee it.  There's so much to do in each of the Disney theme parks.

I heartily recommend that you schedule at least one character meal during your vacation.  Perhaps you could cap off your second day at the Magic Kingdom with a dinner buffet at Chef Mickey's.  This restaurant is just a short monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.  It is found on the fourth floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Call (407) WDW-DINE right away to make advance dining reservations.  Then, after dinner with Mickey, you can take your son on a monorail ride back to the Magic Kingdom.  You can stop and explore Disney's Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts along the way.  The beach at the Polynesian is a fabulous place from which you can watch the nightly fireworks.

Be sure to start your day in the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland.  You'll be able to visit most of the attractions there quickly if you arrive when the park opens.  Also be sure that your son gets to experience Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Country Bear Jamboree.  He can meet Mickey at Town Square Theater, and if he likes thrill rides, don't miss Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is a little boy's paradise.  Head to Toy Story Mania! first at this park to avoid long lines.  Sign him up for Jedi Training Academy if he's a Star Wars fan and be sure to take him to see Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show.  There are some fun Pixar character meet and greets in this park as well.  Don't miss Fantasmic at the end of your day.

Wishing you a magical journey in less than two weeks!  Have fun!
