Toy Story Land Woody & Boy

    Joel from TX Asked

Can my son get Woody's autograph outside Toy Story Land? he has a disability and the large crowds taht are at HS right now are too much for him.

Hey Howdy Hey, Joel! I hear someone is looking forward to meeting his favorite deputy, Woody, during your upcoming trip. I'd be happy to give you some suggestions to help you reach for the sky for your little guy.

Although Woody used to meet Guests over in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom Park, currently, the only place to meet him is in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios; there you can find the Sheriff and his true love, Bo Peep, near the entrance to Toy Story Mania! I'd suggest using the Character Locator in your My Disney Experience mobile app. Simply touch the map at the top of the screen and tap the arrow next to "Wait Times." Scroll down and select "Characters" and then "Show List."

I know you're concerned about crowds, so the best time to go would be early in the morning (incidentally, the crowd level has been significantly less in Toy Story Land since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge). If you're a Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guest, try taking advantage of Morning Extra Magic Hours (and if you have the Park Hopper Option on your tickets, you can head over to another Park later in the morning).  I would approach Woody's Cast Member "handler" to let them know your son's situation; they may allow a third member of your party wait in line, while you find a quiet spot to sit with him in the area. When you do meet Woody, make sure to ask him if Andy's name is still on the bottom of his boot! There are PhotoPass Photographers stationed nearby this meet and greet to catch your magical moments.

You may also want to consider stopping at Guest Relations on your way into the Park for a Disability Service Access Card (DAS).  This is was designed to help accommodate guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to a disability. If you need further information, contact Disability.services@disneyparks.com or (407) 560-2547.

Joel, I hope your son enjoys his day in Andy's Backyard! If there's anything else you need advice on, don't hesitate to ask!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
