My son will be 3 the week after we visit Disney World in Sept. My question is about car seats. Will he need the car seat to ride the bus? We will have the car seat and stroller with us. Will they store them under the bus or do we carry them on?

There are two types of Disney buses. I assume you're asking about the buses that take guests from the resorts to the theme parks. But there are also Disney Magical Express buses that take guests from the airport to the resorts. I'll describe both situations ... just in case.

The Disney Magical Express (ME) buses are plush motor coaches (think long-distance Greyhound). You will not need a car seat on board. You could just hold your child on your lap or have him in the seat next to you. There is under-bus storage space on the ME buses. You could have a car seat, stroller, or carry-on bag, placed there for the trip from the airport to the hotel.

The regular Disney buses that go from the resorts to the parks are more like city commuter buses. They are VERY clean, but the seats are hard plastic. There are not any seat belts. So, even if you brought a car seat with you, you would not be able to use it. Again, you can just hold your son on your lap or have him sit next to you. All strollers must be folded to get on these buses. There is no under bus storage area. You just fold your stroller and carry it aboard with you. I have done this many times, even with a double stroller. The few steps up getting onto the bus can be tricky with trying to juggle a child and the stroller and your other belongings. Often other guests will help you. Once you're actually on the bus, the aisles are wide and you'll be fine with everything.

It's a little confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of it in no time!
