Hi there my son has type 1 diabetes and finds it trouble in lines . What other options do you have to help with this as we would love to come to your park from UK . Thanks mark Disneyland california

Hi, Mark, and thanks for your question!

I’m so excited to hEAR you’re planning a trip all the way to the Disneyland Resort in California! What an exciting adventure you’re about to embark on!

You’re definitely headed to the right place – the Disneyland Resort is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, accessible experience for all Guests, including those with type 1 diabetes. In fact, since your son has trouble waiting in long lines, the Disability Access Service (DAS) may be a good fit for him. DAS is for Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting in a conventional queue environment.

Here’s how it works: Guests may schedule a return time that’s comparable to the current wait time for that particular attraction. Once the return time is issued, Guests are free to take a break, grab a bite to eat, or enjoy entertainment. Though Guests can only have one active return time at a time, as soon as an outstanding return time is redeemed, they can go ahead and receive a new one. Return times can be issued at any regional Guest Relations kiosk within both theme parks.  Bonus tip: DAS can be used in addition to Disney FASTPASS Service!

If this sounds like a good solution for your son, I’d recommend stopping by a Guest Relations Main Entrance location upon arrival. Speak with a Cast Member about your son’s specific needs, and get set up with DAS if necessary.

Wishing you safe travels and Disney magic!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
