Mom And Son On Run

My son has several food allergies (corn, oats, soy, milk, egg) that are difficult to avoid; therefore, I make all of his food. I want the rest of the family to get the dining plan. Is there anyway to leave him off the dining plan?

    Hi, Marcus!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. All Guests on the same reservation must have the same vacation package options, including the same type of dining plan. You have two choices here, but both would involve purchasing the dining plan for your son since the rest of the family would like to get the dining plan. If you would prefer to make your son's food, another family member with a larger appetite could enjoy your son's meal in addition to his/her own meal. The other option is to specify your son's food allergies when you make your advance dining reservations for table-service restaurants. At quick-service dining locations you will want to speak with a manager to ask about which menu items would be safe for your son.

I can tell you from first-hand experience that the Walt Disney World Resort chefs and servers do an outstanding job of handling Guests' food allergies and special dietary concerns. Disney takes food allergies very seriously and tries very hard to accommodate Guests with these special dietary restrictions. When you make your dining reservations online, you will see a section where you can indicate special dietary requests, including specific food allergies (milk, corn, egg, soy, wheat [gluten], peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish and other). If you make your dining reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE, you would simply let the Cast Member know about your son's specific food allergies and they will be noted on your reservation. Whether you make your reservations online or by phone, the table-service dining locations will be informed in advance of your son's food allergies and will be ready to prepare an appropriate and safe meal for him.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance by recommending dining locations in the theme parks or at the resort hotels for your family.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
