    Jessie from MN Asked

Our son (5) has sensory processing disorder and autism. Is there a “fast track” pass for him or anything else provided for families with special needs children. Thank you!

    Hi there, Jessie!

I am so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. There are many services and strategies available at the Disneyland Resort to help Guests with disabilities maximize their time in the theme parks and have a magical experience with their families!

To avoid waiting in line at the resort to purchase theme park tickets, I recommend buying your tickets in advance online or by calling (714) 781-4636. Additionally, the Disability Access Service system is designed to accommodate Guests who aren’t able to wait in a conventional queue due to a disability (including autism and cognitive disabilities) by allowing them to receive a return time for attractions based on the current wait time. As soon as the Guest (and his or her group) finishes one attraction, they can receive a return time for another.

If your son becomes over-stimulated or just needs some down time while exploring Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, several quieter locations are available where your family can take some time to regroup. To find the break area nearest you, simply ask a Cast Member for assistance. A few great options are First Aid in both theme parks and the World of Color viewing area (during the day when shows are not being performed). The resort offers a whole host of tools to help make the parks accessible to as many people as possible, so please visit Guest Services in either theme park for assistance with meeting your son’s individual needs.

I hope this helps you plan, Jessie. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have as your pixie-dusted vacation approaches!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
