My son has sensory issues and I am afraid he may not want to wear the magic band. Does he have to wear it? Can one of us adults wear his too? Other ideas on how to manage this? Thanks

    Hello, Charlotte!

I have seen a couple adults with younger children wearing two bands. There is no rule that I am aware of that each person must wear their own MagicBands at all times, and I wouldn't want your son to be miserable during his magical vacation. If your son tolerates it, you could give it to him right before using it to put it on and he could give it right back to you for safekeeping, or he could just touch his bracelet to the Touch Points without even wearing it. You could then wrap it around his or your belt loop or a backpack strap. I wouldn't throw it in a bag to save time - you won't want to be trying to find a wayward MagicBand when everyone is ready to use their FastPass+ Selections.

If you wanted to get really creative, the most important part of the MagicBand is the top of the band where the Mickey head an be found. That entire hard part contains all of the magic that you will need. You could cut away part of the band and possibly make a lanyard or necklace if your son would rather wear that. Or maybe a Key chain that he could attach to a backpack?

Depending on the size of your son's wrist, the harder grey outside plastic does come off to make the band smaller. The inside material is a bit softer and your son may find this to be more comfortable. If you do take off the outer part, remember that it can not go back on.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Charlotte!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
