My son will be 3.5. If we do the 2nd seat and dine and play, do most kids find the excitement of the cruise to keep them going until 10 or 11, or are there tons of meltdowns in the Oceaneers Club every night? What happens with that scenario?

    Ahoy Robin!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. So you're cruising with a little buccaneer? No worries, the second seating Dine and Play program works like magic!

With the Dine and Play option, (only available during second seating), the youngest cruisers will have their meals expedited and served first. When the children are finishing up, Youth Counselors will make their way to the dining rooms to escort them to the Oceaneer Club. This allows the adults in your party to dine at a relaxed pace without the worry of a squirmy child eager to go and play!

In my personal experience, the Youth Clubs have more than enough activities, games and excitement to keep the kiddos happy and engaged until the wee hours. There are also quiet places for kids to hang out within the club if they're feeling tired. On more than one occasion, my youngest child has been found taking a quick catnap during movie time in Andy's Room - the Toy Story themed section of the club. My daughter loves the Oceaneer Club so much, she begs us not to pick her up before midnight!

If, for some reason, your little one finds himself having a little "Mickey Meltdown" during the evening, the Youth Counselors can contact you via your Wave Phone, a portable phone provided in your stateroom. Most parents find that their children are happy and entertained in the Youth clubs, and find some time to relax and enjoy the Adult Activities provided on a Disney Cruise.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions as you plan your magical voyage with Captain Mickey! - Anchors Aweigh! - Diane W.
