My son and I are preparing to run in our first 5k (Star Wars). Do we need to bring back packs or something to store our cards, phones ect in while we run or are we provided a locker? We’re newbies to 5ks

Hi, Michael, and congratulations on running your first 5K! There is nothing more magical than earning your first race medal at the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort!

When you attend the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, you and your son will each receive your official race bib, t-shirt and clear plastic gEAR bag. You can use this plastic bag to store any items you wish to have with you at the conclusion of your race. You'll get a bag check sticker the morning of the race, and then your race number will be used to claim your bag after you've crossed the finish line. Since no valuable items should be checked, you'll want to find a way to keep your phone and ID on you during the race. One suggestion would be to use an elastic armband wallet which holds your phone on your upper arm. Another option would be a Flip Belt that slides around your waist. If you can't find one before you leave home, both of these accessories will be available at multiple vendor booths during the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo.

Perhaps a more "fun" suggestion would be to incorporate some sort of holder/ bag into your race day costumes. Perhaps your son could dress as Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and wear this awesome Yoda backpack during the race? Maybe you could be Han Solo and instead of a trusty Blaster by your side, you have your trusty phone in your holster. You'll also want to keep that phone with you for pictures of you and your son with all of the awesome Characters you'll encounter on the course!

Good luck, Michael, and May the Force be with you!
