My son will be 22 when we plan on traveling. Would it be better for him to book his own reservation or would I be able to book two rooms and have them connecting rooms? I am looking to have a separate room for him and for our other son who will be 17.

    Hi Angie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted you brought this question to us!

I can see challenges and benefits to either scenario, so I will discuss possibilities and hope to provide perspective!

When I spoke with a cast member in guest services today, she confirmed that there must be someone at least 18-years old or older in the room. So your 22-year old and 17-year old could share their own room. There is no guarantee that you will be able to get connecting rooms, however. I certainly suggest that you make the request with guest services.

This could be a teachable moment for your sons. If you allow the older one to book the room and handle the reservation details, he will gain more experience with managing a reservation and the charges that will be billed to the guest folio. I am sure he is well equipped to do so, but I always believe in more practice!

If you want the entire family to stay together, the best way to guarantee that is to reserve a villa or suite. The Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort Hotels have some options for two-bedroom suites that could work for your family. Everyone would have a little privacy while you would share a common living space. My family loves the two-bedroom villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The two-bedroom villas also have a washer and dryer - happy dance.

This resort is close to Disney Springs, which has a lovely night scene that your family might enjoy.

Angie, while I cannot tell you which option would be better, I trust that you will make the decision that is best for your family!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
