Hi, My son is obsessed with watching videos of the beautiful cotton candy flowers being made at Epcot. I believe this is something special for the Flower Show, but am super hopeful they will still be around for our visit at the end of June. Any ideas?

    Hi Kylie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My family just got back from another amazing Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and we spent much of our time at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. We had gorgeous weather, and it was so dreamy to wander the festival, sample tasty treats and sips, and stop to appreciate the beautiful blooms.

As we walked past the China Pavilion, my husband exclaimed “WHOA!” – and WHOA, was he right. The Chinese cotton candy is truly incredible! Those sugar artists are absolute masters, and that colorful, 5-layer cotton candy flowers are even more impressive in real life. During the Festival, which runs until June 3, 2019, Guests can watch the artists spin the cotton candy and purchase cotton candy concoctions at the Lotus House festival booth.

Kylie, I’m sending your son my sugar-spun, pixie-dusted wishes that he’s able to watch (and taste!) this incredible culinary art on your upcoming visit. I haven’t heard of any plans to extend the cotton candy artisans past the Festival’s end date, but dreaming is always a good idea! My advice is to read the Disney Parks Blog as you count down to your vacation, as that’s where the latest news is announced.

Since your Mouseketeer loves watching candy being made, be sure to stop by the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom Park. Here, you can watch cotton candy being spun and check out themed candy apples, Mickey Krispie treats, and colorful lollipops. Big Top Souvenirs in Fantasyland's Storybook Circus is another great spot to watch treats being made with magic, and over in Disney Springs, Disney's Candy Cauldron hosts a show kitchen, some amazing window displays, and lots of yummy things.

The Disney culinary artists are really on a roll right now, with amazing new treats being announced all the time, so I’m confident that you’ll be indulging in no shortage of magical treats in just a few short weeks! Enjoy every bite – and every minute of your together time.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
