My son is 10 and has a mental health problem. For the disability access service card, can a parent ride with him or do we have to get in the regular line? He also has a 3 yr old sister. Would she have to wait in a regular line?

    Hi Shing,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As a mom of a child with special needs myself, I've found the Walt Disney World Resort to be a magical place for everyone, and I'd be happy to help you navigate some of the wonderful resources available to Guests traveling with special needs.

First, because needs vary so much from person to person, you'll want to visit Guest Relations when you first arrive to discuss the concerns you have about your son's visit and his unique needs. If you do qualify for the Disability Access Service, please don't worry about your family needing to split up. Your entire party (up to the allowed number of Guests) will be able to experience attractions together using the Disability Access Service. Once it has all been set up at Guest Relations, a member of your party will simply ask a Cast Member at the attraction entrance to use the Disability Access Service and it will all be managed on your MagicBand or card. You'll be given a time when you may return to experience the attraction, but you'll have the flexibility to return at any point after that given time. Just know that your son has to ride the attraction to be eligible for this service and he will need to go first in the FastPass+ line. You may use the Disability Access Service on one attraction at a time, and you'll still be able to use the standard FastPass+ service, too.

I hope you and your family enjoy your visit to the most magical place on earth, Shing! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
