My son has an insulin pump. He has to disconnect it while on rollercoasters, but drop rides like TOT require him to remove the pump and not take it on the ride. Can we store it nearby while on the ride or do a parent swap so the pump doesn't ride?

    Dear Sharron,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am sure that you and your family are really looking forward to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Walt Disney World Resort does an excellent job of accommodating many types of health issues, and I'm sure that this could be accommodated as well. First, I am totally confident that rider switch would be an option for your family. This would enable one parent to ride with your son, and then the other parent to ride, without having to wait twice in line.

As for your other idea about getting the pump from the attraction entrance to the attraction exit, some attractions (such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror) have different exit points from their entrance points. In that case, it would be up to the discretion and ability of the Cast Member to get your bag from the entrance point to the exit point, if you three all rode together. I can't guarantee that the Cast Member would be able to do this, depending on staffing levels and other factors.

Be sure to stop by Guest Relations at each of the four theme parks once you enter, and they will assist you with identifying other assistance as applicable.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
